Caroline Winter walked up on August 11th, 2018 [from/via/route] Seathwaite, Grains Gill, Broad Crag, Sca Fell Pike, Ill Crag, Great End [with] Becky [weather] warm, clear skies, light breeze - obviously a tiring walk. Broad Crag – Birker Fell is 372 metres high. Located near Keswick, England Broad Crag is part of the Lake District S range and has a maximum elevation of 934.0m (3064ft) Fellow go4awalkers who have already walked, climbed, summited & bagged Broad Crag. Although the team leader was able to speak to the party at several points on the descent, Phonefind was no longer working from Broad Crag Col until another of the parties phones was used putting them on the main path below Lingmell Col.They were met by the team soon after this but it would be a further 3 hours before they arrived back at Wasdale Head.

Resources were diverted to search likely locations en-route to the first incident and the three were found below Broad Crag Col on the northern Read more… The team were alerted by the police to a party of 4 males aged between 27 and 29 who stated they had taken the “easy route” up Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head, but, having failed to reach the top were now lost in poor visibility (less than 10m). The team leader was able to contact the party by mobile phone and learned they had been joined by some runners doing the Bob Graham round. 6 likes. The top can be identified by the rock.
