Anyone have thoughts on this issue?Mezcal-like smoke with tingly peat malt leading into sea salt finish.I bought a litre bottle of Highland Cream and was very disappointed to find it had a very strong taste of dettol. The flavour that predominates is that bin fire taste not nice at all.I tried a large Highland Cream with a dash of chilled water. Wonderfully high malt content. Very flavoursome, and well-balanced.

I had some non scotch drinkers taste it and they thought it was awful, too. Still desperately looking for proof of the opposite :-).I really like this one. Teachers Scotch Whisky.

8.5/10' Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine April 2000.A bit harsh and spiritious, but fair amount of peat, malted barley and honey compensate it all together. Cheers.A blended whisky not too dissimilar to a single malt with a good peat flavour.A great Whisky especially from my corner shop where it's branded with £13.49 rrp.In deference to the reviews, I don't taste much Islay in this, nor does it taste like the Highland Cream that I grew up with in Glasgow, back in the 60's. However, I gave up on it a while ago as it changed and became too harsh to enjoy.

I really hate others. I'm pleased to say, he's given up the smokes but not the Teacher's because he loves the taste of peated malt!

An aroma of menthol and smoke greets you, tasting it gives a rich malt sweetness that really coats your mouth and stays after you swallow.

Drink it neat on a wet or snowy evening and you're evening will be complete.I love the smokiness and the maltiness in the nose I also love the salty notes I get in the taste.

I’d recently finished the last of my ‘finer’ whiskies & was after a quick dram. It's smoky and peaty enough to give a kick after a rough day at work, yet smoth enough to drink everyday. That is the iodine nose and flavour in it which some will love and some will hate. I like my whisky, live in Speyside, and maintain that for an everyday whisky, possibly to add water to, you can't beat Teachers, it actually tastes of something other than young, harsh blended whisky, which is the characteristic of the other blends I have mentioned. For the price this stuff is fantastic. Worth every penny. Buy this!Do I profess to be a sophisticated Scotch drinker.....simply put no, but what I do know is what flavors, tastes and aromas I like.
