LOVE that one – but it’s got a hint of darkness/sharpness to it, so maybe that’s it?Like Patty, I was not a huge fan of vanilla because of the overly sweet cupcake thing that was so often wafting out of the bottle. For vanillas, I love MEMO Lalibela and like Arquiste The Architect’s Club and Xerjoff Allende.I really dislike the stewed fruit but there are SLs without it that I also don’t like and I’ve sampled at least 10 and probably more. I find Un bois vanilla in my rehearsals.

I don't think the Sillage is very strong, so there is really only one thing I find wrong with the scent: I really don't like the bottle, I don't find the design appealing at all, it seems to me like it's from the seventies and doesn't meet the little voice that calls for external luxury for the price. As the fragrance progresses, there are moments the notes are at odds with each other and try to dominate one another. My, how things…,How do I Find a New Perfume? I do have one vanilla that I love:  CB’s 7Bill!

I had planned to review that…,Frederic Malle perfume has been around since slightly before 2000. The fragrance is sweet but not sugary. In the beginning the full sweetness, which later dissolves completely in the wonderful harmony of beeswax and vanilla - I liked that so much that I had to buy a bottle, a big one with 100 ml. Un Bois Vanille sounds like a great one, too, especially since it’s blended with woods.Holy snakes & cabbage!

Now, the thing you have to understand about Iris Perfume or What the Underpants are Hiding, they can’t capture the bloom’s smell except through headspace technology, and even that is pretty…,Many, many years ago, when I first was paying attention to notes in perfume and had some awareness of lily of the valley as a note, my immediate hatred cemented.
I hear you.Y’know….. I’ve never been a vanilla perfume fan, mostly because I….dunno! For this events that fragrant projection is important then an extra spritz or two will have you glowing for the whole event and well into the next morning. L’AdM does have that sly vanilla vibe….I love Un Bois Vanille and just bought two more bottles of the current version to replenish my stocks in both Montréal and San Diego. Apart from that, "Un bois vanille" is a dream scent for me, which enchants me especially with its initial sweetness, which then slides into less sweet, warm beeswax vanilla.Autumn is here and I'm looking for a cuddly perfume. Don’t sweat it, the modern iteration is still very beautiful. How does it smell? That’s one of the best descriptions I’ve ever read “A funky, sideways, whispering one’. Yes, that is a bee sweater.

On my skin this fragrance is rather strong and has great sillage.Being not used to the world of gourmands, I must admit this one took me by surprise by how sweet it was. I would not describe that particular accord as thoroughly gourmand, because there are instants the fragrance smells soapy and chemical. A fully fragrant vanilla but not a powerhouse, especially after the first 30 minutes where the whole fragrance settles into a warm, sweet, cozy vanilla-centric beauty. Last year I was able to swap for a partial bottle and I’m happy to have it. I think it might simply be a matter of smell and perception and Christopher Sheldrake’s and mine don’t mesh.Yeah, some houses just don’t work for us, no matter what.
